'Nature is man's teacher as it unseals his eye, illumes his mind and purifies his heart.'
Park is a place that focuses on creating a conducive environment to play which is indispensable in the lives of children and augment their societal relations. In Sync with PBL Theme; Plants, students expressed curiosity to visit the park along with the teacher at Prudence School Dwarka 22. The visit aimed to observe different plants, trees, and their parts more closely by using their senses to strengthen consciousness and participation to help them acquire knowledge of ecological principles. Students were directed to observe their surroundings and listen to the sounds quietly. This activity stimulated a connection with their natural environment. They used their senses (touch, see, hear and feel) to understand the plants and learn through concrete experience. They touched the leaves, smelt the flowers, saw the plants and other things around them and hence, they built their knowledge through observation, using various senses and hands-on experience.
They were apprised with numerous names of plants like Benjamin Ficus, Panda ficus, Champa, Areca palm and many more. Extravagant demonstration of students through interaction about various novel names of plants, color, size, and texture offered them an exhilarating exposure. Post activity was taken in which students collected a variety of leaves and twigs to record the observation. The visit bestowed an opportunity for students to share and reflect on their experiences.
